「水彩で描く半透明レイヤー」“Translucent Layers by Watercolor”

水彩の独学。
いや、冒険中とか実験中という方がしっくりくるかな。
自分がしたいと思った表現を実現するために
水彩絵具をどう取り扱ったら理想に近づくのか。
それを一つずつ自分なりに試すことの繰り返しをしてます。
その表現方法には、道具や画材、水分の量、用紙の大きさ、
描くモチーフ、独自のカラーミックス。
それらの組み合わせの数だけ無限に可能で、
ひょっとしたら、
アーティストのアトリエの空気、国、気候、その日の天候、光、
そんなものもその作品の出来上がりに影響するようにも思います。
「絵を描く」と一言で言っても
それには無限大の表現方法があって。
同じ絵具、同じ紙、同じ筆を使っていても
表現者が違ったら、作品の仕上がりも全く違う。
自分らしい表現に出会うためには
気になることを一つずつ経験するしかないかな、と思っています。
前々からやってみたかったレイヤーの表現。
今回は、あえて複数のカラーを使ったレイヤーを描いてみました。
実験してみたレビューを記録しておきたいと思います。
やってみたこと
- Dry on Dryという技法を使用。
（レイヤー1枚ずつしっかり乾燥させた上に新たなカラーを重ねる） - 各レイヤーのエッジにより濃度高く絵具を落とす。
- 合計7色を使用。12レイヤー重ね。
- 上のレイヤーになる程、水の配分多めに。
レビュー
- しっかり乾燥させても、上に重ねたレイヤーのとき、筆を撫ですぎると下のレイヤーのカラーが溶けて混ざってしまう。上のレイヤーの筆さばきは手早く！水分を多めに落とし、その水分に絵具を落とすように濃くしていくことがポイント。
- 下のレイヤーのカラーは思ったより濃いめにした方が上のレイヤーから透けて見えやすくなる。
- 今回、7色と多めのカラー数を使用したが、5色ぐらいに抑えるとより透明感を保ち、コントラストの効いた印象を保てるのではないかと思う。
- 水を多用し、筆のストロークが重なるので、使用する水彩紙は厚めでブロックタイプがおすすめ。
自分が好むカラーの組み合わせで様々な形で。
もう表現方法は無限大です、本当！

“Translucent Layers by Watercolor”
The ways of expressions are infinite. I am in the artistic journey, and experiments are my daily routines. Drawing translucent layers of colors with watercolor has been one of the examinations that I wanted to experience. I would like to share that experiment in this article! Here are points I tried and my reviews.
Points tried:
- Use “Dry on Dry” technique (Dry each layers completely before going to next.)
- Use darker paints to edges of each layers
- Use 7 colors, paint 12 layers
- Add more water to upper layers
Review:
- Get colors on lower layers melted and mixed in grayish as more layers covered over, even though dried very well. Adding more water and dropping the paints into that water works well to avoid unwanted mixing colors.
- It could be better to show more color impact on lower layers by making paints darker than you think.
- It could be better to express more translucency and color contrast by using less colors (maybe 5 colors or so vs 7 colors).
- Thick and blocked type of watercolor papers are recommended due to a lot of water and brash strokes.
