「目に見えないモノを描く」"Drawing invisible"

単純にそこに存在する物体や光景を描く事は
決して嫌いではないのだけど
自分の魂が一番喜ぶことは、
「目に見えないモノを描く」ことなんじゃないかと
最近思い当たって。
2019年に光栄にも幼なじみのアーティストから
楽曲のジャケットに使用するイラスト制作をご依頼いただきました。
その時が一番わかりやすいターニングポイントだったんじゃないかと
今になって思ってます。
まずその楽曲を送ってもらったんだけど
その音楽のサビの部分まで行ったら
パ〜ン！とあるイメージがくっきり浮かんで。
それはもう鮮明に。
描いた作品は、そのイメージをそのまま描いたモノでした。

目に見えているわけではないけど
目の奥に浮かぶイメージ。
これまでのところ、音楽の奏でる波動に共鳴した時と
人を想った時の2パターンを経験しています。
少し前に、甥っ子のために描いた作品の時に
我が家の３姉弟の絵も描いて欲しいって
旦那さんからお願いされてからというもの
ずっとイメージが降りてこないかなぁと待っていました。
そして、一番最初にパ〜ン！とイメージが降りたのが
今回シェアする次女へのイメージです。
浮かんだイメージを表現するための技法を
まず手探りで考えていたので
「よし！描くぞ！」と気持ちよく描き始めるまでに
かなり時間を要しました。苦笑
出来上がってみて。
瑞々しく力強く、明るく暖かい。
そんな作品に仕上がったな、と自分では思っています。
次女の名前にあてた漢字の意味の通りになりました。

「自己を輝かせ周りを照らし　全てを照らす光の輪となる。」

そんなコトバも一緒に浮かびました。
自ら放つ輝きによって周りを照らす。
そして輝き出した周りによってまた
自分に輝きが戻ってきて。
そんな光のループによってやがて全てが光になる。
そんなイメージでした。
どうしてりんごだったのか。
家族いちフルーツ好きだからか
はたまた赤ちゃんの時の大きい真っ赤なほっぺのせいなのか。笑
どちらにしてもイメージぴったり！と夫婦では思っています。
この作品が、彼女の素晴らしい人生の「光」となってくれたら。
涙が自然と浮かんでくるんだよねーそういうこと思っていると。
これが、自分の魂が喜ぶ瞬間なんだろうなぁと思ってます！
さて、長姉と末っ子長男のイメージはどうなるだろう。
３人の内面はあまり似ていないから
きっと全然違う作品になるだろうと思います！

“Drawing Invisible”
In recent days, I’ve noticed what really makes my soul happy. That is drawing something invisible. When my old friend who is a musician asked me to drew for his new song’s jacket was the turning point.
He sent me that song first. And I experienced THAT. As I listened the sounds, the image popped up in my mind (or head or inside of eyes) very clearly. And I just drew that image.

It was very fresh and sensational experience for me as an artist. The invisible physically, but visible in mind. I’ve experienced, when my soul resonates with music, and when my feeling touches to a person’s inner beauty, I would say.

What I share in this post is an illustration of the image for my 2nd girl coming to my mind.  I’ve tried to catch images for my 3 kids for a few months, and the image for 2nd girl was the first to get visible!
“Shining self brightens up others, and brighten others shine back. And finally the circle of lights will shine the all.”

Those words are also imaged in mind too.

Why apples? Maybe she is a fruits lover or her cheek was big and red when she was a baby?! Well, my husband and I think this painting turned out to be just like her!

My hope is this piece will be a light for her wonderful life! That is the moment my soul feels happy, and my eyes get wet!

Now I’m looking forward to see the images for my 1st girl and son. They have totally different personalities, so I’m guessing the illustrations will be so different too!
